Join us for a virtual photographic trip to France on Sunday, November 14th, at 2pm from Hank Meirowitz.

Hank will present his photographic trip to the beautiful Loire Valley, its castles and Gardens at the AF Center.

Join us at 2pm April 17th, via ZOOM, for a presentation from Mike Norris on the Impressionist painter Berthe Morisot.

We’ll join a 12:00 tour of the exhibition and having lunch together afterwards.

Entrance to the museum and tour are free.

A Parisian who knew Normandy, Georges Seurat created unforgettable scenes of everyday French life, using the latest scientific vision research of his time, including Pointillism, a technique of placing daubs of paint close together. “A Sunday on the La Grande Jatte” is the best known example of his work. This presentation is by Michael Norris, of Armchair Art Tours.

Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is showcasing their extensive holdings of Auguste Rodin’s works to mark the centenary of his death.  It includes pieces that have not been exhibited in many years. It includes drawings, marbles, bronzes, plasters and terracottas by the master. This exhibit runs through January 15th, 2018 at the Met Fifth Avenue or visit here for more information: Rodin at The Met

On Sunday, November 12th @ 2pm, Jini Jones Vail, author of “Rochambeau: Washington’s Ideal Lieutenant”, will be doing a presentation in English on her new book (still in edit) “Summering in the Loire Valley”.  Jini invites you for a private tour of the Chateau du Marechal de Rochambeau, with an unexpected slant.  Rusty Dyer, filmmaker, provides a glimpse of a noble family home, while Jini focuses on the provenance and ensuing 234 year junket of the twin gouaches. The mysterious trail of the pair of paintings begins in the 1780’s, with the final battle of the American Revolution.

The Alliance Française invites you on October 25th to join them on their

Fall museum tour. We are traveling to the Bruce Museum

in Greenwich to see the “In the Limelight” exhibit of the works of artist

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and view a film featuring the works of Post

Impressionist Paul Cezanne.

Our guided tour will showcase Toulouse-Lautrec’s portraits of the

dancers, singers and other performers who became the icons of the

Parisian nightlife in the late 19th century. The exhibit explores the

relationship between portraiture, caricature, and rise of the cult of

celebrity in Belle Epoque Paris.

The film will view from 10:30am until 11:30am. The guided tour begins at

12:30PM. Admission for the guided tour exhibit of Toulouse-Lautrec and the film

on Paul Cezanne will be $12.00, payable at the door.
