This film is in English with French subtitles.  It is a British film showing a fictional story based in a tense period in French history when Charles DeGaulle’s life was in danger from ultranationalist extremists. Based on a mystery by Frederic Forsyth where we know the conclusion\, but do not know how the plot will take us there.  Special permission was granted to film behind the scenes at a Bastille Day Celebration and film inside the Ministry of the Interior.  Strother Purdy will introduce the film.                      The film will commence at 7PM\, at the AF Center\, please BYOB. Strother Purdy will introduce the film in English\, and Anne Quinson-Franklin will introduce the film in French. \nSnacks will be provided\, BYOB.

It was directed by Jean Renoir\, son of the legendary painter\, and is universally praised as one of the greatest films of all time. It is a drama set in the decadent and callous French society entre deux guerres\, immediately before the start of World War II. The war broke out within months after the film’s release.
