DESCRIPTION:Our Cine-Club will meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month\, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm to watch French movies (subtitled in English). All levels of French speakers are welcome to attend.  \nNovember’s movie will be the 2013 comedy “Quai d’Orsay or “The French Minister” directed by Bernard Tavernier starring Thierry Lhermitte\, Julie Gayet and Rafael Personnaz. A new speechwriter must navigate the rough waters of internal politics while trying to compose an important address for his boss\, the minister of foreign affairs. \nAFNWCT members attend free of charge. DESCRIPTION:Parlons Français:  Back To Basics \nYou studied French in high school\, but your memory could use some refreshing.  The Brookfield Library will once again be our host for a series of meetings – this year more like a class – for our Parlons Français group\, led by Colin Harrison. \nStudents go ‘back to basics’ with the textbook “Ultimate French – Beginner-Intermediate”. The third class in this series will meet on Thursday evening\, November 10 from 6:30-8:00 pm (or Wednesday afternoons) upstairs in the main library section and contine to meet as per the schedule listed below. \nThe class size is limited to six participants for each series.  Copies of the textbook will be available at cost ($12) in the first sessions.  Homework will be required! \nPlease register for this event through the Brookfield Library website. \nNext Meeting Dates are: \nThursday\, 8 December 2016\, 6:30-8:00 pm \nThursday\, 22 December 2016\, 6:30-8:00 pm \nThursday\, 5 January 2017\, 6:30-8:00 pm \nThursday\, 19 January 2017\, 6:30-8:00 pm \n
