Priority access given to school groups during the first hour. \nCommunity Heritage Village\nHermione shipbuilding and colonial crafts demonstrations. 18th century Military drills and demonstrations; 18th c military encampment; Navy Band (schedule TBD).\n10:00am – 4:00pm \nAlliance Francaise of Providence \nThe ship Hermione is now sailing through the Atlantic and will be in Newport\, RI on July 8th and July 9th.  A number of events will be organized during those 2 days. The Alliance Francaise of Providence is part of that effort. One of the main events will be a luncheon on Wednesday July 8th from 11:00 to 3:00 at the Ocean Cliff resort. The place overlooks the entrance to Newport Harbor so the ship will be seen when it enters the bay at 2:00 pm. The luncheon will be a sit down buffet style. There will be music and a number of dignitaries are expected for that occasion. The individual price of the tickets is $45.00\, drinks are cash bar. Tables of 10 can be purchased for $500.00. This is the updated information: \nThe Alliance Francaise of Northwestern CT (AFNWCT) will celebrate “la Fête de la Chandeleur” on Sunday March 1 at 3:00 pm in the Bridgewater home of one of their members. Also called Crêpe Day\, la Chandeleur is a French holiday during which people traditionally eat crêpes and drink cidre (not to be confused with American apple cider; this beverage is only for people over 21!). \nThough Chandeleur is often associated with the Catholic holiday of Candlemas\, it actually stems from pagan traditions. While some say Chandeleur celebrates the return of sunny days (crêpes symbolize the sun)\, others say that making crêpes using flour left over from the harvest ensures prosperity in the coming year. \nParticipants will have an opportunity to try their luck with the Chandeleur coin ritual: if you can successfully flip a crêpe while holding a coin in your other hand\, you and your family will not have to worry about financial problems. \nAdmission is $15 per person ($10 for members) and reservations are required by February 26. \n  \n  \n\n\n\nMembership Status\n\n\nMember rate $10.00 USDNon-Member rate $15.00 USD\n\n\nAttendee’s Name\n\n\n\n\n\n\n   \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
