DESCRIPTION:Celebrate national poetry month with original poetry written by Brian Denyer. From humorous to inspirational poetry\, this program begins with Brian’s verse response to the French classic poets (e.g. du Bellay\, La Fontaine\, Moliere) and will include his commentary on the poetic attitudes of the time period. Moving forward onto the more modern forms\, Brian’s poetry will imitate the styles of Baudelaire and Paul Valery.  To conclude\, participants will create an original group poem\, in French. Hand-outs of the selected poetry using a parallel text translation will be available. This event is open to the public.
