Since 1921, our local Alliance Française has filled an essential cultural arts service for the communities of Northwestern Connecticut. Our members enjoy coming together in a friendly atmosphere where they can learn, practice and/or improve their French language skills and gain a better understanding of the culture of France and the traditions of many other French-speaking countries.

With the determination to make the promotion of the French language our main prioirity, in the fall of 2014, we opened our AFNWCT Center and Language School Classroom in Southbury, giving us a great location for our programs and, more importantly, a place to teach French classes.

Please consider volunteering your time or talents!

In the past, kind-hearted members and friends have helped us, and we are deeply appreciative of all past donations of funds, time, and talents, especially from all the past Presidents and Board members who so generously gave of their time.

We really need members to volunteer a two-hour time-slot just once a month to open our AF Center at regular times so that members can come browse/borrow books, CDs or DVDs from our French Mediatheque. During our open office hours, we would also be able to respond to enquiries for information about our membership or classes.

You may wish to volunteer to be part of the planning committee for our programs or help at meetings with the preparations or clean-up… We’d love to work in partnership with you. Let us know how you would like to help us.
