The Alliance Francaise of NW CT in collaboration with The Brookfield Library has scheduled a monthly showing of a French film with English sub-titles. Listening to the French (while watching the subtitles) is another great way to practice and train your ear to the French language.
On Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 1:00-4:00 pm the film will be Jean de Florette a 1986 French period film directed by Claude Berri, based on a novel by Marcel Pagnol. The film takes place in rural Provence, where two local farmers scheme to trick a newcomer out of his newly inherited property. The film starred three of France’s most prominent actors – Gérard Dépardieu, Daniel Auteuil, who won a BAFTA award for his performance and Yves Montand, in one of the last roles before his death.
