Gallery Talk by Charles Stuckey on January 8th, 2016 6:00 PM at the Mattatuck Museum
Join Dr. Charles Stuckey, Head of Research for the Yves Tanguy catalogue raisonné, for a gallery talk and presentation developed in conjunction with Yves Tanguy: Surrealist Painter/Country Gentlemen exhibit which can be viewed through January 17 at the Museum.
Celebrating the works of the French Surrealist painter YVES TANGUY, the Mattatuck Museum is sponsoring a talk given by who was born in Paris and came to the US in 1939, married the then NY based painter Kay Sage and moved to Woodbury in 1941.
The art exhibit is a reflection of the artistic circle Tanguy and Sage attracted and will include other artists’ works including André, Alexander Calder, Naum Gabo and Hans Richter.
